Synopsis

In the remote mountain village of Blackwood, an eerie mist lingers over Black Lake—a place steeped in dark folklore and whispered fears. When a young boy vanishes without a trace, journalist Evelyn Moore is sent to investigate, hoping to uncover the truth behind the town's growing list of mysterious disappearances.

What she finds is a community trapped in fear, bound by silence, and haunted by the tragic legend of Eleanor, a little girl who drowned in the lake decades ago. The villagers believe her restless spirit still lingers beneath the black waters, seeking vengeance against those who wronged her. Evelyn, a skeptic by nature, dismisses their superstitions—until she begins experiencing chilling visions of a pale figure watching from the depths and wet footprints trailing outside her door.

As Evelyn digs deeper, she forms an uneasy alliance with Isaac Thornton, a reclusive fisherman who harbors painful secrets from the past, and Dr. Lillian Carter, the town’s pragmatic physician who insists there’s a logical explanation for everything. But the deeper Evelyn wades into the lake’s dark history, the more she realizes that some secrets are meant to stay buried—and some spirits refuse to rest.

With each new disappearance, the line between myth and reality blurs, and Evelyn must confront not only the ghost of Eleanor, but also the village's hidden sins and her own haunted past. In a desperate race against time, she must uncover the truth before she, too, is swallowed by the lake’s silent, suffocating darkness.
